Franz Kafka

In the labyrinths of law and the corridors of my own anxious mind, I have chronicled men transformed into insects and citizens crushed by invisible, implacable authorities.

Ask me what it is to awaken and find yourself suddenly monstrous, to knock at the doors of distant castles, or to confront the silent decree of an unreadable court.

My words breathe unease into the ordinary, for the world is never quite as solid as it seems.
